i am almost 28. long gone are the days where staying up until 3 am, waking up at 7 am, and working productively were no big thing. last night i stayed up until almost 1. i could barely drag myself out of bed by 7:30…
but today will be good. i love fridays because i get a day’s head start for next week. so when i come in on monday, i’m not suddenly overwhelmed with the week ahead. tonight is date night. and tomorrow, i head out to decatur, alabama. i have to tie up a few loose ends on my message but i am really excited about getting to teach this sunday. it will also be my first time speaking in a movie theatre church so i think that whole experience will be awesome.
i covet your prayers. the messy-ness of this week’s news hasn’t really affected my focus for the weekend much. if anything, you have inspired me to keep on going, keep on trusting. this is totally in god’s hands and being distracted isn’t going to do me – or anyone – a lick of good.
anyway, on the getting old thing, that makes me curious – how old are you?
don’t be shy…

I am 24. But I feel a lot older.
31… ugh.
I’ll pray for you this weekend. You should reactivate the old email prayer thingy – it seemed to work! I’ve just finished our four weekend services and am now going to go and lie down for a bit. Today I feel older than 37.
Oh Girl, you’re just a “young thang” ! I’m 39 and feeling rather old myself.
you’re definitely in my prayers today. i think it’s so awesome that you’re taking the opportunity to teach and help others! be blessed.
oh, and i’m 26.
26 here…
I’m 20 for another 2 weeks!
I am so old I cant remember when I was 28. Looking forward to this weekend.
I am 50. Thanks for asking. I tell everyone. I love being 50.
31. Sort of. Been married about 11 and a half years, and have two kids (10 and 5). So, in dad years, that makes be around… 38 or 39, I’d guess.
38
34, but I still feel like I’m about 26. :)
You have been in my prayers this week, with the ordeals you have been facing, and will also be this weekend.
29…already planning a BIG bash for when I turn 30 next March. I’m looking forward to it. No, no. I am. Everyone tries to tell me that I’m not. But I feel like its definitely a significant move forward. I also feel like there’s a line I’m crossing where by I have to move beyond potential to actualisation. I feel that’s a good place to be.
Turned 36 a week ago. Sucks.
turning 24 on Tuesday! :)
29
26… But I hear that your 30s are an awesome time. I’ll be praying for you this weekend. I’m really excited about it. I heard Craig Gross will be at my church and I can’t wait to meet him!
I feel really old,
I will turn 41 on the 16th!!!
Hey, Anne I will be praying. Why don’t you think about coming to San Diego??
God is going to move mountains through YOU!!!
Anne,
I’ve been praying for you and your situation and for the other one involved. I pray that God works it together for your good.
I’m probably one of the “elder statesmen” in our common corner of the blogosphere.
I turn 36 next month.
Not too old to still go see Crowder tonight though….yeehaw!
35 and happy to be there. Men tend to die pretty young in my family, so I tell people that I’m in my twilight years. LOL…it’s all borrowed time now, so if God wants me to keep going I’m all for it.
i am 21 and around the office i am refered to as a “fetus”
Girl, you are a baby! I am 40 and I still consider myself young!
Thank you Saralee, for the company on the higher end of the scale! I am 47 and love it! Could’ve died over a decade ago from cancer, but was granted a reprieve! Licking every crumb off of each new day!
so…I was feeling a little old by that post, but after all the comments…I’m right in line. I’ll be 37 in December….so I guess that makes me 36…..
23.
i feel like my age doesn’t represent my state of mind.
i haven’t been able to stay up till 3a & wake up at 7a since I was 18 (pre full-time employment days). :-)
I was overhearing a couple of ladies in their 50’s in my office saying that since going through menopause they no longer got so tired in the evenings and could get away with much less sleep, so maybe it’s just as case of waiting until you’re old enough to stay up late again! I’m 31 btw!
Ventidos.
Also known as 22.
Just turned 28…I felt that one a little bit.
So thankful and feel so fortunate to be living my dream.
I’m 28 and I have a hot date tonight as well. (With my wife) :)
Our schedules seem pretty similar! haha.
woot for being the youngest person who’s commented thus far.
16!
Youre almost 28???!!!! Ive got socks older than that!!
Ill be 50 in November….But Im never going to admit it.(except right here)
34, I think!
i’ll be 23 in 46 days. and for as long as we’ve known each other, that’s pretty darn crazy, huh?
43. The 40’s really are the greatest. I became a runner at 40 and feel the best I ever have!
Happy (early) Birthday to you!!
I don’t get all the glumness about getting older.
I’m 36. Be 37 in a couple weeks. I LOVE getting older. I’m getting smarter each year, by God’s grace I’m getting more secure in who I am in Christ, and caring less about what people think.
So far, I’ve liked each year better than the one before. It’s all attitude, guys. Cheer up! Each day is one day closer to home!
Whoa – wow – all these new people coming out of the woodwork! So lovely to meet you all!!!
Twenty-fo.
I’m 24. I had a professor in college who used to say “You won’t change the world till you’re 40. God has to change you first.”
32 and done all the adult stuff
Been in the military
Been married (and divorced but that ain’t an adult requirement)
Had a kid
Had a mortgage
I felt like I have seen it all and been through it all. Despite it all, my life has never been better than it is now. Best part, it keeps getting awesome-er.
32 :)
26
35 and quickly approaching 36.
Whoa…the age thing really opened the flood gates…
Well, I am hanging with Jeff and Nooc…36, class of 89 (sounds so weird!)…
Feel like I am 22, actually am 36, getting older and older every time I think about it…two sons in Middle School, that’s enough to age you years!
Jonathan…there is some MAJOR wisdom in the words of your professor…thanks for sharing that!
Anne…Your openness and transparency has been a blessing to so many people…it would be my honor to be praying for you this weekend. BTW – Theather Churches are awesome! Much Prayers Friend…
25. 25 was hard for some reason. Maybe a twenties are half over thing. But my husband is 30, so he’ll be my “I could be that old” for the rest of our lives. ;)
34 and proud.
I’m with Mark – getting older (& hopefully wiser!) is a great thing! Each year I feel a little more comfortable in my own skin. I love the 30s – right in the middle at 35 currently.
I am 10,448 days old
* 902,707,200 seconds
* 15,045,120 minutes
* 250,752 hours
* 1492 weeks (rounded down)
or 28 years old
I’m 28.5… And you know that I now live in the state of Alabama right? But I think Decatur is far from Auburn…
twenty-four… I’m not sure how old I feel.
I’m 39…. Here’s a little funny for you…
Austin said to me, “While I was waiting for the service to start, I was looking at everyone in the sanctuary. I looked where you normally sit and found Park immediately. I looked beside him and there you were. WOW! Can you really see all your gray hair from the sound booth.”
Austin just turned 16. Our other two sons, Travis – 13 and Parker – 9 were walking with us at the time… We all just about busted a gut…
That’s one reason why I stopped coloring my hair over 2 years ago now… Sheer laughter…. Well… and the sweet little ole ladies who tell me I’m suppose to dye it black and keep it cut right below my ears…
Signed,
A Rebel with a Cause
Ok, ok… I will share with you the secret to staying young. I’m 26… My husband? He’s only 21!!!
Physically, 48, on the 14th of this month.
In my brain…I’ve been stuck around 19 since I was 19.
37 and loving every minute, blessed to have every day!
15. yes, i said it.
31 here. Woa, that Deana is very focused on the details. *Where’s my calculator? Oh and 28 wasn’t so bad, but 29 sucked…cause it’s like the last year of your twenties…sorry to be a kill-joy.
only the blogstar anne jax could get dozens of people to proudly state their age!!!!
35
26.75
I’m 39. It wouldn’t be that old, except I’m not married and don’t have kids. Could write volumes on all the issues that brings up (but I think it’s been done before).
I’m looking forward to seeing you speak in Decatur this weekend!
35….
Wow…you have such a range of readers!!!
34. Yes, I know. That is mid 30s.
i’m also nearly 28
28 is not old. Neither is 32, which is what I am. But I also realize I can’t pack as much in a week as I used to. I am toast by Saturday morning. =)
46 and a lot of miles.
gaj
I am 27 but feel much older. I too have found that staying up past my bedtime will need a terrific jolt to get me going the next morning.
I am praying for you speaking venure!
Stacey
I’ll be 37 next month – argh!
I am 45 and enjoying every minute of life. I spent 10 years working with the elderly so I always think of myself as young because they did. One friend who is 106 says life really doesn’t start until 100. =)
Okay – so I’m “young” enough to be everyone’s Grandmother, but always, always, always want to care about issues we all face and future generations. Anne, when I first found your amazingly incredible blog, I put you on my very favorite blog list and am looking so forward to your MAD CHURCH DISEASE book, having been a Pastor’s Wife for 35 years now. I also love your attitude re: transparency and (here we go) at the wonderful age of 64, (& proud of it) I am so very grateful for the special touch and insights you give to life. Keep on keeping on! You’re reaching so many, it’s remarkable!
34 …. ouch. It stings to “say it outloud”.
17…but 18 is coming quick.
and if it makes you feel any less old.. i have never ever ever in my life been able to go to bed at 3 and wake up at 7. in fact going to bed at 1 and waking up at 730 can’t happen either.
staying up past 1 period is a HUGE rarity in my life.
and you are not old. :).
and even when you do feel like you are. who cares what the number is. its your spirits age that really matters. and as long as you can have that childlike spirit, you’ll never be old! i love you anne.
24 sista. 24.
42 a week from Monday. And I’m a grandpa. And 28 ain’t nothin’. And you’re pretty smart for 28…
32
Hmmm, I’m pretty sure I am the winner!
The body is 48, (although my boys tell me I’m almost 50), and the mind is 26 (and has been for a long time). The mind gets out of bed and starts getting ready before the body.
25 and loving it.
I am 40…ouch
So I feel old…it feels like you think your young in your mind, but then you cannot get out of bed as easily but you know enough to relive your life better if you could. Make sense?
older than you…
27! Woo-Hoo!!
29 going on 7. I’m about to celebrate the birthday where a man becomes officially a man. You know, older folks actually refer to you as a man and not a boy anymore.
I remember when my wife turned 30. Women don’t seem to view entering a new decade like they did an old one…
Jenn stole my answer. This is my first (semi) public announcement of my birthday in years. I don’t like birthdays; I don’t like knowing that another year has gone by and I’ve accomplished nothing. My life is nothing near what I thought it would be by now.
I decided the other day that I’m going to start lying about my age now, though I doubt it will make me feel any better.
I am 26 :-)
42 by years, about 25 by energy and the first 42 were prep for the rest of the ride!!! and that part is only beginning!! ;)
I’m 26.5! Woohoo!
I am 32 and I feel like I am getting older on some days and younger on others. Not sure which it is today. :)
