I said no to full-time summer school. I really, really want to finish my degree by December but I don’t want to kill myself or my family (husband and four kids) in the process. May is a good month, too.

Also, I said yes to getting a new puppy. I figure, if I don’t have time to take care of a dog then my kids probably aren’t in that great of shape either. (Should mention our family dog was recently killed by a car.) The dog will be my canary. Heard that one about the coal miners who carried little canaries in cages down into the mines? The canaries were more sensitive to a lack of oxygen and when they stopped singing the miners knew it was time to get out of the mine. I’m the kind of person who needs a canary.

My wife and I went through some issues with our firstborn to make us realize the importance of what we put in our bodies. We decided to eat natural… if God made it, it is better than anything man has made.

One thing we have done… we have joined a dairy co-op for fresh milk.

    …and growing our own food
…and buying foods straight from local farmers

As an aside, it’s scary to think that in trying to help third world countries end hunger that we send them our processed and refined foods.

well as a recent newly engaged couple me and my fiancee are starting a workout plan that consists of running, pilates (yes, im doing it for her), basketball, and just good ol plain eating healthy. Also considering buying a blackberry application that suppose to help with workout instructions that you could do straight from home.

I rejected the opportunity to move closer to my workplace, because I knew that if I did I would no longer have my half-hour walk to and from work every day, and probably wouldn’t replace it with another form of exercise.

To me “healthy” comes in many ways. Spiritually I am working on reading the Bible more often and staying in constant prayer. Mentally I try to vary my knowledge by consuming books from various subjects. Physically? Trying to eat better and make eating a conscious choice.

Step 1 – Get hyperactive dog.
Step 2 – Set alarm clock at 4:30 am and hit snooze button
Step 3 – Dog barks at you until you drag your sorry bum outside to walk.
Step 4 – Walk several miles
    Step 5 – Loose weight

God recently told me to go on a fruit and vegetable fast. Although the main motivation behind it is spiritual, not physical, I suppose it counts. : )

I’m in the process of (willingly) leaving the church I’ve been serving full-time at in order to get out of an unhealthy situation and take care of my family. I believe we’re doing it to “stay healthy”.

Hi Anne: I’ve lost about 17 pounds in the past 4 months – just eating healthy and staying away from chocolate as much as possible. I sponsored Anne (Anne with an ‘e’) Ruth Larose in Haiti when you posted her picture on your blog. Still waiting to receive a letter from her. Thanks for inspiring and blessing so many through your postings.

I’m back to working out every day and I do strength training every other day! It took me long enough to get back on the wagon!

Well.. as hard as it is, I’ve given up Soda, just water & juice! Reading the Abs Diet book, which is shockingly really good and it’s a gradual program and I’m applying it…. & Not just a restriction diet. & Walking 4 miles a day & attempting to get some of my girlfriends on board with me. Not to mention listening to some good podcasts on my ipod during this walk. Usually some Hillsong United or the latest Israel.. that I love. Gotta make exercise fun!

I’m sleeping. Being rested is the most healthy thing I can do … I’ve just started my first full-time job ever and it’s exhausting (I know, I’m spoiled). And sleep is the best thing for me, my husband, my job and (I think) even my relationship with Jesus.

My healthy tip is to not bake for my family right now…..it seems that I’m the one that it’s most (all) of it so we’re taking a baking break….

on Mondays, I spend extended time with Him in the evening by saying no to all other things. And mentally/emotionally, I realized that playing sports really makes me happy, so even though sometimes I feel like I don’t have time for sports, I try to play with my friends… setting aside time intentionally to play.

Even though I own and have already ready MCD, I’d love to have two copies to give away. I can think of two pastor friends right off the top of my head that need to read it.

The first thing I thought of was that I’m working on staying healthy emotionally by reading your blog and the chapter out of your book. A group of us are currently involved in revitalizing our church.
Body-wise I’m cutting down on sweet things with my coffee.
    Thanks.

Honestly…I’m not doing anything (exercise wise). I eat my fruits and veggies and get enough sleep.

Satan has been sucker punching me for quite sometime, I need to lose some serious lbs. and keep ignoring it. I just need a lot of prayers right now.
