this is derrick. he lives in uganda. he’s seven. he’s an orphan. he has three brothers and sisters. his grandmother, who makes next to nothing as a laborer in the village where they live takes, care of them. the average life expectancy of a ugandan is around 50 years. so, chances are, she will not be around much longer…
derrick has been waiting over six months for a sponsor!!

HE NEEDS A SPONSOR RIGHT NOW. CLICK HERE TO SPONSOR DERRICK. THIS LINK WILL TAKE YOU DIRECTLY TO HIS SPONSORSHIP PAGE. DERRICK HAS A SPONSOR–TOM SNYDER!! THANK YOU!!!!
joan has also been waiting over six months for a sponsor.
she’s seven years old like derrick. although her parents are alive, they aren’t always employed. she also has three brothers and sisters. she needs you. her family needs you.

JOAN NEEDS A SPONSOR RIGHT NOW. CLICK HERE TO SPONSOR JOAN. THIS LINK WILL TAKE YOU DIRECTLY TO HER SPONSORSHIP PAGE. JOAN NOW HAS A SPONSOR!! THANK YOU!!!!
as of today, these are the only two children in uganda who have been waiting over six months for a sponsor.
you may have been waiting for just the right child to sponsor. these kids need you now. because of you, they will hear about jesus. their families will hear about jesus. please don’t make them wait any longer!!!

Derrick now has a sponsor. :-)
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who will sponsor Joan??!!
I love the fact that I clicked both links and both were taken that fast.
This is the perfect way to get kids sponsored. Throw a couple out every few days. Point out specific needs.
I’ve always thought there were a lot of people who have the ability to help and will if we just make it painfully easy for them.
Holy cow, Anne. That’s amazing.
freaking awesome.
AWESOME!!!!!! yea God.
Hi,
I’m a new reader (since the blog trip) Our Compassion Packet came in the mail today with our info. on our newly sponsored child. I CRIED when I saw her cute picture and read about her….we already wrote a letter, sent stickers, a picture of our family, and my daughter drew her a picture.
We are so happy to be a part of this great movement :)

What a great way to do that. When we choose our second Ugandan boy last week, I looked for one that had been waiting 6 months or longer like these two. I’m glad to see none of the others have been waiting as long!
great work, Anne – I bet if you posted a couple of those every day, they’d be snapped up just as quickly…I know I would…you’ve made it easy for people to say yes…
Anne, you’re making it hard to NOT sponsor a child!
Great post my friend! And I congratulate you for being the first reason to make me cry this morning. Dang this culture shock stuff is killing me! H
Great way to use your blog to make a difference. I’m still anxiously awaiting the packet on Sabato, the little boy we sponsored last week because of your guy’s trip.

By the way, you may find the world clock tool I just posted about on my blog this morning interesting after your trip.
It shows mortality rates among other thing in an approximated real time. It’s pretty sobering.
