Poetry: Holy, Restless Anticipation

Stay right here a little while

Stay right here my dear

Hear me whisper to your heart

And take away your fear

For you soon will see

An unlikely king

And you soon will feel

A flesh that will heal

Oh, Divine, my Word on your lips

Find refuge in a holy kiss

Stay right here a little while

Stay right here my dear

Hear me whisper to your heart

And take away your fear

    Hi Anne,

Have you submitted your poetry to any lit or religious journals? It’s a tough gig, as I’m sure you know, but your direction here leads me to think you’ve headed (or are heading) in that direction.

I ask, because many poet/writers in the literary tradition tend to build a portfolio of essays and poetry. I really admire the risk you are taking here. You will, no doubt, succeed.

I haven’t…I thought about maybe self publishing some stuff once I get back into the flow of it…I still feel pretty awkward with where I’m at skill-wise as I’m beginning to write new things these days. But thank you for the encouragement.

Soooo heart rendering, Anne. As you make efforts to bless others, may you just be doubly blessed. Excellent poetry!

Simply beautiful! What I love most about poetry is its evocative power–there’s so much in so few words. You have the gift in spades.

Tried my hand at a couple of poems recently on my blog. Not sure it it’s a strength. Honestly, though I joy in agonizing over just the right word, blogging is far tougher than I imagined. Not so much the writing, but being read. It would seem that I’m getting readers, but so few comment. I know there are more variables than these, but it makes me wonder: do I suck that bad, or do people just not care? Regardless, I’ll continue. I would rather write, and fail, than not write at all.

Sorry for divulging my heart here on your not-blog.
