Recently, there have been some very serious questions asked about Mad Church Disease, and instead of writing an impersonal post, I thought I’d address you guys a little more formally, via video.
Please see below:
(This is what happens when you have some free time and a video camera late at night after the NBA Finals are over. And, just to clarify, no pastors were insulted in the making of this video. Andy Stanley also looks good, and Ed Young knows how to lead. Thankyouverymuch.)

I love it. Great idea. It would be interesting to know what some of the requests you get are

This is truly amazing, and funny.
I want the New Leadership book by Andy Stanley
And the new hair cover.
LOL
Great idea.
Covert burnout assistance!
This actually makes me a little sad that I’ve already received and read a copy of your book.
I suggest that for your next book, you just go ahead and give buyers the option for any extras that we may need.
PS. Love the music on the video. Gave it almost an “Its Always Sunny In Philidelphia” feel. :)
Girl, you crack me up.
i would love to know how many people actually order one. seriously. so funny.

Hahaha. I never could have kept a straight face while doing that.
I love those covers! Too bad I have already devoured my copy without one. A cover would have helped me maintain the “I work in a church and everything is sunny and I love ministry so much I’m always willing to sacrifice anything to be able to do more work in the church” image.
Too bad reading your book ruined that for me. Now I let people know I have boundaries, I have a regular date night with my husband, and I know that working in ministry is never a substitute for a real relationship with God. Geez, Anne.
What a riot! Love it, Anne.

Thanks Anne, I got a good and much needed laugh this morning! I confess that one of the first questions my new boss asked was what books I was reading…I told him “Mad Church Disease” and you should read it too! He looked at me funny, but he did write it down! ;-) Blessings!
Thanks so much everyone! I’m glad my nerdiness has given you all a laugh. My hubs is solely responsible for the music selection. He’s genius!!
you’re crazy girl! thanks for the laugh!!!!!

you are nuts girl :)
You made my day!
I handed your book to a friend the other day. She said, “Yeah, I’m not even working here and I’m a little burned out”. Not sure what that meant but I told her, “Working in ministry is great; just make sure you strap in and wear a cup”. Her husband laughed way harder than she did. I think we all amuse God; just not always on purpose.
You da bomb, Anne! Thanks for who you are.

Love the video. We just got the latest Catalyst Blue Box @ the office yesterday and do ya know what was in there? Yep, a copy of “Mad Church Disease”!!! I snagged that thing and ran with it! Not really. I just commented that I so wanted to read that book and was planning to get it right after I finished “Killing Cockroaches”…then I started “The Hole in Our Gospel”…anyway, I ended up with the copy of your book and can’t wait for this weekend to get into it!
And I think a book cover for a Craig Groeschel book could be “How to Fill a House with Kids (in 10 years or less)”…

Anne, That was some funny stuff! And to think…I bought it before I coule get the custom designed cover by Anne Jackson. I’m a little upset now that I did not get one of those finely handcrafted Gems. Now you owe me, and will have to bring me one to Catalyst, Atlanta 2009! I’ll be waiting there for the cover :-) And of course…I’ll get my copy signed by the famously talented (and she is even better looking than Ed Young! Sorry Ed!) Anne Jackson! Sweet…the best of all worlds!
