This weekend, I have the privilege of speaking at Oak Leaf Church in Cartersville, GA. I have admired Michael and what the people at OLC are doing in their community for the last couple years. I’ll be speaking about God’s plan for poverty and the people of Oak Leaf will have a chance to sponsor children through Compassion after each service. (Service times are Saturday at 6 pm, Sunday at 9 and 11 am).
A few prayer requests:
- Please pray for me…I have spoken multiple times on multiple days before, but not like this. I’m excited, but think it has got to feel really weird to say the same thing three times! I just want to show up and let God do His best through me.
- Please pray for the people at OLC…that they will see and understand God’s heart for the poor, their role in his plan for poverty, and that they will take whatever the next step is on their faith journey…whether it is believing for the first time, or deciding to take a big leap of faith and do something crazy!!
Your turn. How can we pray for you this weekend?

I’m awaiting notification on whether i have been accepted into the accommodation i wanted for while i’m studying overseas. I really don’t wanna miss out because the other options will likely be significantly more expensive and inconvenient. Please pray that i’d get the one i applied for.
Also please pray for a situation i’m having with my dorm mates. Some of the other residents have been involved in some inappropriate behavior which is becoming detrimental to myself and others. I’m going to need to approach the supervisors to work out a solution to this so please pray that i would have wisdom in how i go about this and get a suitable resolution. Oh and that i would have the self control to resist telling the perpetrators what i think of their behavior

Anne, thank you for the opportunity to pray specifically for you, it’s always appreciated, and it’s an honor to be praying for you this weekend. OLC will be blessed to hear you speak!
Prayers for me…? Your post about going after our biggest dreams really spoke to me, I have been praying extensively about this since reading your post, and unlike all the previous times I’ve thought about these two biggest dreams, I haven’t felt overwhelmed and void of ideas, I feel as though God is telling me it’s time to jump in, and kick-starting it with some great ideas, some encouragement, and lots of positive feelings. Prayers as I start to chase after this dream, that God will be honored, that I will be who/what He needs to see this through. Bonus? It has to do with Compassion, poverty, clean drinking water and the gospel, and it will involve using my God given gifts to bring attention to all of that… I am SO excited. Pray that I am on an upward momentum, as I’m praying a prayer of gratefulness for the inspiration you’ve given me.
Some friends in my Sunday school class have a 17 month old, Ian. This morning at 8:30 he went into surgery to remove a 6 cm tumor that is just behind his forehead. They will not know the results of a biopsy for a few weeks, but needless to say this will be a trying time for him and his mom and dad-Jason and Anna.

While my hubby was in IL a couple of weeks ago, we were asked to pray about planting a church there. So, appreciate prayers for God’s clear direction in whether we are to plant a church or if it will be going to an existing church. Either way – I know that I know we’re preparing to move in 2010.
Dangerous prayers continue for you & all who visit here!
Much love dear one for you have been written on my heart.

Long story short… Moved 2 1/2 years ago and put the house we left up for sale right before the housing crash. We bought if for $68,000 and now it is only worth $35,000. VERY upside down in our mortgage.
We tried a short sale, and were denied. We’ve tride a deed in lieu of foreclosure deal, and the bank servicing our loan dragged their feet. Now, after a second move (job related) the house is going to be foreclosed on unless we can sell it or work out something with the bank. We can’t afford rent and a mortgage payment. We went way into debt trying to keep up with it for 18 months while it was on the market.
Please pray that we can work something out with the bank that services our loan. We don’t want our credit destroyed for the next 7 years.
Thanks!
I am working through God’s call for me to become a missionary.

Thank you, Anne for all you do in our Lords name
Anne, as for saying the same thing three different times — trust God. We just had a group from Crossville Mission Bible Training Center (awesome ministry) at our church Sunday. The men were the same, but the songs changed up a little as did the testimony delivery and the words of the message. Two services, two messages, both just right for the audience there. God knew. And I’ll be praying for you that your words come strictly from Him.
As for praying for me — I need some clarity on me. I’m in the midst of a Bible study right now that I find answering the “fact” questions very easy, but when I come to a “personal” question, my mind is absolutely blank. I know I have issues and fear, yet when it comes time to write it — deal with it, BLANK. Nothing. Nada. I know I’m not stupid, but someone wants me to think that.

I could use prayer for clarity. My husband & I need a clear answer to whether I will need to go back to work in the fall and if we can get the same answer within a close timeframe, that would be most helpful. :)

I will be praying for you as well. For all your speaking and this sickness that is attacking you.
Please pray for me that I would love the way Christ wants me to. That I would be a mirror image of Him. Please also pray for a church we are helping plant that God would bring people that need Him and that He would change their lives.
I wish I wasn’t tied up at my own church…you’re gonna be only 30 minutes from me! Please pray for us, my daughter Hannah gets married Saturday afternoon, and I’m performing the ceremony!

I will definitely keep you in my prayers. Are you feeling better??
If you could please pray for my kids, I would greatly appreciate it. In a nutshell, my both my kids took turns throwing up- my son the night before last, and my daughter all day yesterday. Now my son has a nasty all over his body and my daughter will barely talk or move. So, urgent care today. I’m not usually a mom that freaks out, but my son fainted last night and scared the crud out of me. Parenting is not for the weak-hearted.

Please pray for the death of my spirit. My church job is making my lose my faith in Christians. If we do the work of Jesus on the outside but achieve it by toxic measures from the inside does it become worthless in the eyes of the Lord? Is the motivation then out of love for Jesus or something less than authentic, less than Godly? At that point are we just shouting “Lord! Lord!” in the public square for the world to see? Have we received our reward? When we put all of the Christians in a room together is the side doing more harm (or absolutely nothing) in the world larger than the side doing an authentic good work in the world? Are there more Christians serving in food pantries or rebuilding houses in New Orleans than Christians that support torture?
I don’t know anymore.
I really need to find a good web-designer for the new ministry website. Its a need I’ve been praying about…

hi anne! we’ll def pray for you, i hope you’re feeling all better too!
as always, please keep our baby girl, claire, in your prayers. we are trying a new seizure med for her infantile spasms and are hoping with all hope that this is the one that finally works. we want her to have more opportunities to learn, develop and reach her full potential and she really needs these seizures to leave her alone to do that.
and please pray for me and adrian too. that we would be filled with hope, faith, patience and calmness in our spirit as we go through all of this with claire. i can’t even describe how difficult this has been and i am trying so hard to remember Jesus is right here beside me, even when i feel desperate and full of fear.
thanks.
