Just a quick post to let you know we have arrived safely in Delhi. We’re flying out tomorrow morning for Kalkota where we’ll spend all of next week.
And if you’ve never ridden in an Indian taxi…well, you simply haven’t lived.
More later after we’ve settled in to Kalkota.

glad y’all have safely arrived! i think – depending on airline – that you will be wowed by domestic Indian air carriers. :) and, yes, driving thru New Delhi and Kolkata has to be experienced…cannot be described.
we’re praying!
You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into… just wait until you ride in a motorized rickshaw otherwise known as tutu’s.
I love that country, give it a big hug for me! You are making me miss it.

Welcome to the rickshaw club. It doesn’t get more fun that than.

Glad you arrived safely – and that you managed to peel your white knuckles away from whatever in that taxi you were gripping! :)

Anne,
Just finished your book a couple of days ago. Thanks for commenting on my blog. We’re going to give away a half dozen of your books at our annual conference for Assemblies of God ministers in Iowa.
Thanks for investing in writing “Mad Church Disease!”
By Taxi’s, do you mean the thingys on 3 wheels? If not, there weren’t many taxi’s where I lived (Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh). The most popular mode of transport was in motorized 3 wheelers called “Autos”.
Hope you have a blast out there (and stay safe).

So excited for you guys (and maybe a little jealous). India has such a special place in my heart, and I haven’t been able to go back for two years now. The “toilets” are terrible and traffic is the most fantastic adrenaline rush! Drink lots of Indian tea and hug a couple of cute kids for me!
