Praying for all of you. Think of how many children will be sponsored through this…without your gear you couldn’t communicate and those children won’t have a voice. Have fun, be safe.

I’m so excited to see how this trip impacts your life and the heart of Cross Point! Travel safely, soak it all in, and bring back stories of life and love!

    Godspeed!

It is a wrestling match. Myself, I would be thinking about how much bait I would be providing for the more larcenous and less scrupulous elements of India. While I can get all emotional about the plight of the poor with the best of them, bringing $4000 worth of portable, easily-absconded-with tech into a densely populated nation with oceans of people for whom any one of these peices could probably feed 10 people for a month seems a trifle unwise…

Then again, this is from a guy who got his truck full of my family’s gear for a vacation stolen in Calgary, and came to the conclusion it was because God wanted the theives to hear the Gospel from my Christian music CDs that they had obviously played when I picked it up a month later.

I think I missed my own point.

Anne, thank you for writing about the tension. keep writing for us who can’t. I feel it almost everyday living in South Africa.

i live in that tension too. trying to make a go of working in communications for NGOs – lots of writing stories and taking photographs. always feels ironic when i’m charing up all my camera kit, laptop, iphone, etc, for a trip to a developing country.
