A few of us Cross Point people are going to Unleash on March 12 and we can’t wait!
I’ve never been to NewSpring before and have been wanting to for a couple of years now…plus, getting to connect with other pastors and leaders is one of my favorite things in the world to do!? And with 2000 people there I’m sure there are quite a few leaders I could learn a ton from while I’m there!
AND IT’S REALLY STINKING INEXPENSIVE!? LIKE FIFTY NINE BUCKS INEXPENSIVE!
From the website:
Unleash is a one-day conference hosted by NewSpring Church and specifically-designed to challenge, encourage and motivate church leaders to take action in reaching their communities for Jesus Christ. Unleash 2009 happens on March 12th at our Anderson Campus and features two main sessions from Senior Pastor Perry Noble, tons of breakout sessions and quite a few creative and technical tricks up our collective sleeve. Southern hospitality awaits you.*
(Emphasis mine…I fully expect that “southern hospitality” means Tony Morgan will be giving out hugs to everyone.? And that Perry will be serving us buttery biscuits upon our arrival.)
Okay, okay, okay…so what’s with this “FREE” tickets thing?? Well, since I was going to be blogging about Unleash and all, I decided to ask Tony for a free ticket to give away.? He fired back with something along the lines of “One ticket? You are super lame. How dare you even ask me for such a simple thing.? ONE? Come on, Jackson. You just want ONE ticket? How about FIVE free tickets? So someone’s entire team can come? Because it’s all about the team.”
Okay. Maybe I made the first part of that up.? But he really did want to give away five tickets so a whole team could come.
Uh, deal.
So I’m giving away FIVE free tickets to Unleash!
To enter, leave me a comment telling me what creative thing you’re going to do with the money you’ll be saving by not having to pay and I’ll pick someone at random on Wednesday sometime…whenever I feel in the mood to end it! :)
And if you don’t win – just register! But you better hurry.? It’s super close to being sold out!
Ready? Go!

If I win, I will be able to do two things:
#1 I’ll be able to apply the money to the church that I am starting in September.
#2 I’ll be able to take 5 leaders who will be on our launch team!
Thanks for the opportunity!
Hey, this’d be awesome! I’ve got a friend who used to go to NewSpring, and I visited once when I was living in Greenville. But now we’re both serving at Liquid (not a bad gig to be serving at, if I may say so myself). However, we’re both HUGE fans of NewSpring’s ministry, and we’d love to be able to swing back down at some point.
With the money, I’ll donate an extra $60 towards launching another Liquid Church campus.
Take the beautiful Amy out to eat
Dang, Anne. Creative and Faye don’t go in the same sentence! Let’s see….
We’re sending seven guys to Haiti at the end of February. We could use the money from sending five people to Unleash for free to almost completely pay for one of those tickets.
Not glamorous, but when you gotta watch pennies, paying for the mission God’s laid on our heart in Haiti comes before attending conferences.
Have fun with your contest!
I will use the money to buy copies of “Mad Church Disease” and give them away for free on my blog!
5 TICKETS!
Wow..
okay, so with those awesomely awesome five tickets from Tony “Hug” Morgan, I would do one of the two following things with the saved money:
1. Buy as many copies of “Mad Church Disease” books as I could and give them away to pastors in our community, and to my former pastor, who is burned out of ministry.
OR
2. Bless the next waitress that I see with a HUGE tip.
Take our Internet Campus (http://www.pineridgechurch.tv) by switching from Mogulus to Light Cast for our Internet Campus services and from Mogulus to Vimeo Plus for our Internet Campus archives.
I want to take my worship leaders for BSU at school to Unleash.
We will use the money we save to invest back into music for BSU. We need some more equipment and items for our worship service. It would be great to have that money to put back into BSU.
We live 40 minutes away, so this is the closest (and best) conference we can go to.
If I win I will bring some of my team with me which will be a great experience for me and them because it will be the first time that we go to a conference as a team!
I will use the money towards our high school ministry’s outreach department!!
cash is king these days. we’ll be spending the $$ we save on keeping our relatively young church afloat!
ps – the tix would be for our 3 staff people (none of which is me!), so if i win, you can have a second giveaway for the other 2! haha! just lookin out for the greater good :)
pay off our senior pastor & administrator so that they let our student ministry team go. ;)
ok ok. maybe we would use the money to send some kids that otherwise wouldnt be able to go to the conference we’re taking our students to in february.
this would seriously be incredible for our team since the stinkin’ economy caused our church to cut our budget so significantly and the powers that be decided that conferences were the first thing that should go because “obviously” conferences are expendable. (dont even get me started!!!!)
i love my church. i love my team. and this would certainly bless us, as im sure it will whoever wins. :)
that money would allow me to donate $340 to our youth ministry department to send one kid on their Winter Trip to the Keys so they can hear about Jesus. Right now we have 5 kids that can’t afford to go. I’d be able to send one of them.
Nice sucking up with the MCD pleas :)
I definitely take a few people on my worship team. WIth the money saved I’d buy materials at the conference to sow in the lives of those who werent able to go with us.
We’re starting a church in Syracuse, NY. We are attempting to start this church from people who are unchurched/unsaved. These people need to see it in action and get taught by the best. To take 5 people who have no/little/bad church background to see it first hand would be priceless.
What would I do with the money? Put it towards the gas to get there of course!
Our church is having trouble funding Unleash this year. Times are tough.
If I win, I would give out the tickets to folks who can’t afford to buy their own way. These are folks who have never been to Unleash, but the church leadership think will benefit from being there. We really need to kickstart some of our folks and Unleash will do it!
With the extra bones, I’d be able to pay the entire way for a college student to go with me at the end of March on a Spring Break mission trip to New Orleans.
I will take someone along with me and buy Mad Church….I cant wait to read it
Really struggling with getting our folks to Unleash this year. Things are just tough. But we’re really on the verge of something great and need to go!!!! I’m paying for my ticket and would use the tickets I win to give to someone who can’t afford it.
I’ll buy 300 bucks worth of juice boxes.
I will give the tickets away to more key leaders in the church who need to be there with our staff. We were planning on funding leaders to go, but because of the times, we now have people who are unable to go.
I personally am unable to go because I’ll be on my honeymoon, otherwise I’d be there.
…It would be the wedding present that keeps on giving! (not like a re-gift)
grace and peace,
dl
(Staff is paying their own way)
I’d love to be able to go to Unleash. We are currently pouring resources into our new program teaching the youth how to VOLUNTEER and serve others. The saved money could be used for an idea associated with this new program.
We’re teaching the kids to serve without expecting recognition. We want to put on a service project after school on Thursday’s every week for a month. If someone asks them what they will be doing after school they have to say “it’s a secret. It’s a good thing, not bad, but it’s a secret.”
This will teach the kids not to brag about what they are doing and also create a sense of excitement around the project. We hope.
The extra money would be great towards that!
If I won it would be a blessing because myself and 4 other friends are dying to go but can’t afford it. We would all be able to go then and it would be awesome.
We are all volunteers serving in a church and this would help us grow as leaders!
Thanks Anne
Tim
Winning tickets would be wonderful. My husband and I have been trying to figure out how to pay for tickets and praying that they would not sell our before we can work out the money (still praying and if it is God’s will – it will happen).
If we won a set of tickets, not only could we go to the conference but we could also take 3 leaders from our church who are also having trouble funding tickets.
Thanks for the opportunity!
Our church is currently in a spending freeze so we can’t go to unleash unless we win these tickets! I would take the whole staff with me and then personally buy them all copies of Mad Church Disease from the Newspring resource center (or amazon – whichever you like me to)
I’m serious about the whole MCD things!
-Stay amazing
Brad
is this the bash Newspring and Perry Noble thread????? oooops wrong one sorry….
:) :)
i just registered this morning so i will be seeing you and your team there. can’t wait.
I will rent a bungalow in Costa Rica for my wife and me during our spring vacation there. Bungalows are, if nothing else, fun to say out-loud. Bun-ga-low…
We can use the money towards our youth group or for VBS this summer!
I could use it to buy 118 Coke Lights while in Belize to keep me completely quenched until I go back this Summer. Dang – that’s incredibly selfish.
OK, here we go:
I’ll give $15 extra to Radio Free Florence so that they can keep doing an amazing job reaching kids via the internet.
I’ll use $18 to buy 4 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies for the troops overseas.
I’ll use $10 and randomly pay for someone’s food at the drive-thru the next time I go to (insert fast food place here).
I’ll use $15 to buy a Walmart gift card to give (annonmyously, of course) to a family our office works with who we know is having a HARD time right now.
I’ll use $3 to buy 6 Coke Lights while I’m in Belize at the end of this month. I mean, come on, I’m not that giving!! :o)
Good heavens – and to think I went to college. It should have been anonymously not that butchered up word I tried to pass off as being spelled correctly! SHEESH!!
Anne: You make me so proud of you! Now with this Unleash, you are having
fun. Keep it up……fun! love, love, love it! You just have such a way of sharing
your all about people stuff! Thanks!
Either give it to another staff member that wants to go…or…sell it to someone for the face value and apply the $ towards a sponsorship of a child in uganda and i have to raise $300 for ASAP>
Our staff is already going…I persuaded them to let me invite my production team, and eight of THEM signed up, plus I have four more that asked to go but haven’t registered yet.
Our team members are each paying for half the registration.
With the money saved, I think I would give it to the group of students from our church who are going to Maceodonia to work with the Roma people this summer. It’s a huge undertaking, very expensive, and I’d love to contribute more.
It’s a long story……but I would pay someone to knock off a few people for me.
I teach a great bunch of single adults. I would love to bring as many of them with me as possible so if I won some tickets I would use the money to pay the way for more of them to come with me. I am so excited to see what God is about to do with our leaders. Help some sigle adults grow closer to God and just give me 10 tickets.
Donate it to the project that is bringing the Air Force and Navy Chaplaincy Headquarters to Fort Jackson, SC. This project will instill a greater ability for standardization of training for all branches of the military chaplaincy.
If that’s not possible (considering it has government funding), I will look into having a monument erected in honor of Anne Jackson :-)
I would probably turn them around and offer them to a reader at my blog… It would give me another opportunity to tell people about how AWESOME Anne Jackson is!
I would probably take the money to nuy coffee makers & other fun barista supplies to help jumpstart a campaign @ Courageous.tv. For each cup of coffee, latte, espresso, pastry bought, we sould charge a few bucks & use it to fund Doctors W/o Borders’ PlumpyNut initiative.
i’d take my staff out to lunch… they don’t get that enough.
put the money towards helping my husbands students buy a well for a village in Togo, West Africa
I’ll take the money and buy lunch for a few random people who may be unbelievers and possibly jumpstart conversation and eventually friendship.
I would give the money to support missions trips at my church.
Or put it towards the car we now have to buy since hubby’s car is dead.
I would be able to go…
oddly enough both me and my worship leader have been laid off in the past few weeks. We are preparing for a launch in the fall.
thanks
I’ll take the money to Haiti the end of March when I go and buy food for an entire school for one week. It’s just enough to buy rice and beans for 150 students in the village of Pignon.
Actually the money would stay in the budget here at the church to be used for various other ministries…since things are tight this year!
Would love to go!!!
what would I do with the money that I would save well:
1. I would BUY our plane tickets (my team and I live in San Francisco, now that’s pretty far)
2. I would have to go to all those FOOD spots Perry Noble talks about (Chik-fila never had some, none in the bay area.)
3.buy any kind of tools to take back home.
We’ll use the money to take the whole team to lunch while we’re at the conference.
the money we would save would be invested in our community. we do an event called movies in the park in the summer and the money we could save would allow us to give more stuff away…..popcorn, cokes, watermelon, etc.
thanks for doing this!
I totally think you should pick one. I’m not partial or anything though :-) I don’t even live in the same state as him, but I know what his church is doing and it rocks!
Oh I’d use it to buy more processed nacho cheese for our programs. Sick, right?
i’d drop that money into some of our team doing the creative work – youth drama, outreach, live video. and then give the tickets to the folks on my team that ask for them the most creative way. that means preferably involving coffee and a scavenger hunt.
If i win I am going to give them to a pastor that needs to go but cant afford it, and take his entire staff
If I won, we would be able to pay our bills with the money we’d save! :) Oh – and I’d be eternally grateful for such an opportunity.
COMMENTS ARE OFFICIALLY CLOSED. #25 TIM LEMONS IS THE WINNER!
Sweet! Thank you so much! God is awesome! You’re pretty cool too!
I’d give the money to my daughter in college for food, knowing she’ll probably use it for a tattoo.
