it’s okay to slow down.
don’t check your email tonight.
leave your computer at work.
turn the TV off and read a book.
go for a walk.
go for a drive.
go for a beer.
go with your friends.
go with your wife.
go with your husband.
go with your kids.
tell your wife she’s beautiful.
tell your husband he’s all you need.
tell your kids they make you proud.
step away from the addiction.
whatever it is.
even if it’s just for a night.
and look up into the stars.
into the clouds.
into the sky.
into the eyes.
of someone you love.
and love.

Apropos for the season. Especially for those of us church staffers putting in the OT…
Will do!
I kind of want to Twitter a a link to that … but it just seems wrong. ;)
awesome! i can’t do all of these (some don’t apply) but i’ll do what i can…
tomorrow :(
seriously – great advice.
Okay, that was beautiful. It is okay. sigh – thanks for this.
Absolutely beautiful! Thankyou!
amen and amen!
Great advice. Thanks. But since I’m unmarried and have no kids, I’ll stick to a handful of your points.
I tried tonight to call someone to chat because I just wanted to hear the sound of his voice. He was too busy to notice I wasn’t just calling to ask a question.
x
thank you.
Cheers! well done.
How am I supposed to read your post if I leave my computer at work, don’t check my email, and step away from my addiction?
=)
Loved this. Thanks Anne.
well written anne. thanks.
Anne, seriously. This is like the FIFTH person without prompting to confirm something that God has been putting the screws to me about the last 3 days.
Thanks.
Bethany
Right on! Thanks for the reminder.
The funny thing is that I am checking this at home, after work, on my computer. However, I really appreciate the sentiment. A great reminder to enjoy this moment, because this moment is my life.
I love it
Just added your blog to my reader a couple of weeks ago (not sure how I got connected. Clayton Bell?)
Anyway, that was amazing. Not embarrassed to say I teared up.
Thank you.
Ann,
It’s posts like these that keep me coming back to your blog. Well said!
Nice!
I’m a new reader. I came via Angie Smith’s blog and stayed because you and my daughter have the same name. But now I’m reading and I have subscribed in my reader. I’ll keep coming back.
This is beautiful. Just beautiful.
