ROME (Reuters) – An Italian man was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend from a pub, taking her home and forcing her to iron his clothes and wash the dishes, police said Monday.
The 43-year-old man dragged the woman out of a pub in the port city of Genoa, shoved her into a car and took her to his home where he made her iron and wash dishes after threatening her, they said.
Police arrived at his house after being tipped off by a friend of the woman who watched the scene at the pub.
The man, who was apparently furious at his ex-girlfriend for leaving him, was arrested on charges of kidnapping, police said.
if chris ever left me, i’d kidnap him and make him do the dishes and take out the trash.
what chores do you hate to do?

i hate all chores….that is why we have children!
My husband would probably Amen the reason to have children. I hate folding sock. I have two sock baskets in my house (usually the livingroom) one is full of paired socks and the other unpaired. Neither is ever empty despite me asking everyone to grab their socks after I’ve paired them. Oh well. On a different note my husband and children all do more work around here then I ever did as a kid.
unloading the dishwasher, reloading the dishwasher, folding clothes, cleaning the bathrooms…i need a maid.
Lisa and I have a great arrangement. She hates ironing (which I really don’t mind) and I hate washing clothes (which really doesn’t bother her. So we both work well together in that regard.
Now, unfortunately we both hate taking out the trash.
So I get to do that.
I’m not sure how that works?
Ummm is all of them a choice? My least favorite is washing dishes. I don’t mind vacuuming or sweeping or washing/drying the laundry.
Washing dishes…I hate it. The worst part is emptying the little crap-catcher since I don’t have a garbage disposal.
I hate doing the dishes and mowing the lawn!
Since my wife works full time I do a lot of the work around the house (except cooking. I DON’T COOK except to heat up stuff she has already made) :) But my least favorite chore would probably be cleaning the bathrooms and folding the endless underwear and handkerchiefs (makes me think about using kleenex).
Say Brad: how does that work? How is the smell?
Bathrooms
The laundry. Definitely the the laundry.
i loathe dusting
everything else i can roll with
(in turn…not regularity)
but dusting is RIDICULOUS!!!!!
dead skin….GROSS!!!!!
I hate changing the kitty box and taking out the trash. I don’t mind bathrooms and laundry. Maybe we can barter duties here?
bathrooms and dishes. UGH.
Folding socks and cleaning the bathroom. Our kids also do more chores than I ever did as a child! They will be better prepared for life and will thank us someday. Right? They will, won’t they?
I hate cleaning bathrooms and dusting. Truly, if I could eliminate one annoying thing in my life it would be dust! Two minutes after I dust (and I use a Shopvac…no wimpy feathery thingies, thank you), dust resettles on everything. We sneeze, we wheeze, we curse its existence. Dust is more resilient than the cockroach; no matter what you do, you can’t get rid of it!
And I have to concur with the comments about kids. My older two, now 13 and 9, have taken over a number of chores in my home (including dishes every night), and I feel like I won the lottery!!
I love to cook, but I hate to clean the kitchen.
I’m not fond of any household chores actually.
Mowing the lawn. It kills me everytime because of my allergies.
giving my dog a bath
Mine is a little less pedestrian, quite a bit nerdy, but is a chore none the less. Working as a graphic designer, I generate Gigabytes worth of files each week. Keeping those files organized and backed up is a major pain. Maybe I’ll do like our Italian guy and kidnap a Geek Squad(tm) member and force them to do my rsync’s for me.
@GI–Sign me up. That is probably my absloute favorite thing to do. It is mindless and takes me away from reality for alittle while anyhow!
@juliep–I’ll do that for you too!
1) the litter box!!! (for a 20lb. cat!!!)
2) dusting
otherwise i’m good to go, especially with ironing…if you have any that needs done send it my way…weird, i know!!!
the answer is in the question
I hate cleaning the bathrooms!!!
grocery shopping
Folding laundry, errr…. just leave it in the basket and lock it in the closet…
i totally do not like making a grocery list! i put it off til even loren is begging me to go to the store.
will someone please publish a revolving grocery list w/ 30 meals planned for a fam of 8!!?
I can Hate or Love just about any chore… depending on my attitude. Hmm, I just blogged on this on 6/13 called “Car Picnic.”
Thanks for your great blogsite!
Sorting junkmail is at the top. Ironing is close second. Doing laundry itself is not too bad.
BUT….
L-O-V-E grocery shopping (Jocelyn…I’m dissapointed). It’s very therapeutic especially at 9:45 at night where you get the whole store to yourself!
Cooking also is in my top favorite house chores.
I’m with Nicole, DUSTING IS DISGUSTING!
I hate almost all housework. I particularly hate dishes, bathrooms and continually picking up our stuff. But I hate emptying the litter box most of all!
I am thankful for my “cleaning angel” who takes care of us and cleans my house every week, Annie! She’s the best. I could not be in full time ministry without her.
My husband is wonderful to help but he is not home often!
That is a great intro to a post!
My wife and I have it down. I hate dishes and ironing…she doesn’t mind. I don’t mind taking out trash and actually like vacuuming. Especially with a sweet yellow dyson I got off of woot not long ago! My thorn in the flesh is…cleaning up the back yard after the dog…ewww!
I hear the new iphones do the dishes and take out the trash. Are you tempted Anne?
I bet you guys $10….if you had central vacuum system, you’d do it more often. I used to have it at my old house…man I miss that thing.
I hat epicking up stuff that other people leave laying around and putting it back where it goes — like changing the empty toilet paper roll, empty water glasses, used towels…. I think I am the only one in my house who can’t tolerate disorder. Dust I’m ok with; disorder makes me crazy!
oh yeah — Wanita — there’s a great book called “Saving Dinner” which gives you a year’s worth of menus with gorcery lists. The dinners are generally for four, so you’d just have to double it.
I love to mow but am like @GI in that it kills my allergies.
I guess the ones I hate the most is taking out the trash in the bathroom along with changing the puppy pad. That dog can put out more stuff than any creature I have ever seen and it is just a Yorkshire Terrier.
Drying dishes(no dishwasher)…..cleaning the tub. Oh man, despisement.
Washing dishes and cleaning the bathtub!!!!!
Definitely dusting is a dreaded chore! But, I love keeping the frig clean. My husband loves vacumning!!! He really does – he keeps asking “Is this the day I vacumn?”
Folding the laundry. I think it’s because I’m really particular about how I fold everything (including and especially underwear), so it takes me forever to get everything folded and put away.
Jenni – just dump that underwear in the drawer! You’ll feel like a new woman!
Jenni you may have an issue or two there girl. :-)
Laundry. It is the thorn in my side. In France I must hang everything to dry,and often it takes DAYS to dry a load. In the winter, sometimes it even molds before it can dry-at that point every radiator in our tiny apartment is covered with towels, jeans and shirts!!
Cleaning the bathrooms and washing the floors
SCOOP THE LITTER BOX!!!
the never ending, ever deepening piles of laundry – and cleaning up after our bulldog.
Ironing does suck, i guess it would be number 1 on my list too, the problem is my wife feels the same way. So i always walk around looking like a slept in my clothes!!
Mowing, unless I’m off work for a week. It’s just that when I get home at five, the last thing I want to do is mow. I mean the absolute last thing.
Anyone willing to let me kidnap them once a week, let me know, and you can mow my yard for free.
That’s right, I said it, I will LET you mow my yard FOR FREE.

Laundry. I hate laundry. It breeds in our house. I cant really complain though – just wrote a post on savoring all moments which is true, but spose it is ok to actually not like a chore. Am grateful to have clothes and things though. Here’s my post if you are interested: http://sharingnotes.blogspot.com/2008/06/if-youve-been-following-you-already.html
i absolutely HATE HATE HATE mowing. and it doesn’t help that my mom nags me about it while i’m busy all week, then when i finally get a free moment she wants me to mow. plus, mowing is on my mind since i have to once it cools down tonight. arrgghh.
laundry!!! the whole process…sorting…loading…emptying..folding..and putting it all away! eerrr, it never ends!!
I hate laundry with a passion!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like laundry. I hate dishes. Grody.
Cleaning up pet and people barf. As a mom, I always seem to be the one that does that!
Sorting laundry. Dusting(haven’t in years). Vacuuming furniture of pet hair.
Yes, children come in handy. Especially the young ones because they think helping is FUN! So what if it takes an hour to vacuum the kitchen floor. They’re OCCUPIED! For the childless families, rent one. Seriously. Mine are reasonable.
I hate cleaning the bathroom. Sick! I will do absolutely zero cleaning without gloves. Dirt and grime disgusts me to the core.
I hate pulling weeds!
