Snow vs. The Haircut

It’s cold, windy and all around not fun in the Kansas City metro today. Flurries blowing around in the gusty, frigid wind.

But not even Jack Frost himself could keep me away from my hair cut.

And I must say, it was completely worth it.

I love you, Jerry Jackson. Thanks again for another fabulous hair cut.

(Go visit his website linked above – He’s not only an incredible hair dresser, but amazing photographer and overall creative genius!)

[[edit://Per Kristi Fair’s request – a photo of the new do. Pardon the camera phone quality, lack of makeup and overall gooberness of this shot – It’s Friday. The cut’s kind of a shaggy euro bob with pixie bangs. A mosaic of style and creativity I owe all to Jerry.]]

Wow, you have a real pro doing your hair. I went to the site, very nice. (Does the cut fit in with Texas?) ;-)

Jerry is aaammmmazing. Unfortunately, a majority of Texans do in fact have what is called “Texas hair” – (nobody I met at LP though). I suppose it’s time for a revolution.

very cute! yay for cute haircuts…

urgh. i so need to get my hair done. oh well…

  7. crystal Avatar

does this picture mean you woke up and showered and did your hair today?

    :)

  8. Anne Jackson Avatar

Oh ha ha. I woke up. I showered. But no, I did not do my hair today. The “Euro” part of the description means I simply dry it and put some wax in it. Since it’s naturally wavy it kind of just does itself!!!

Love it. I think it looks especially great because it plays up those doe eyes of yours. :)

This is a hairist post and deeply offence to those of us with thinning hair for whom the only style available is, short!

  16. Anne Jackson Avatar

    Hairist…that’s a good one, James!

please tell me your lying. i almost peed my pants i go so scared when i looked at that.

  18. Anne Jackson Avatar

Nope. TX hair is its own phenom. Ask Megan. You need to be careful going to Baylor that it doesn’t affect you too….

  19. Tracy Avatar

i vow here and now that i will never take part in the Texas hair nightmare.

Love it! I did the same thing 2 weeks ago. Every once in awhile its nice to splurge. Take lots of pictures and when you need a trim you can show them at Supercuts how you want it done…. ;)

you are such a cutie! The TX hair thing is funny. I traveled a long time with Promise Keepers around the country doing conferences and we’d all look forward to Texas. Those poor girls would come out to work all decked out with big hair, big make- up and big heels. Here I was in my jeans and hikers. I was soooo out of place!

  22. kristiapplesauce Avatar

    Stop it right now…texas hair.

  23. Anne Jackson Avatar

i think the only people who have seen my “texas hair” which yes, i have been guilty of before would be crystal maybe…and i am very sure kristi has. egg me on enough and i might post a picture of my very own texas hair.

  24. crystal Avatar

i used to have texas hair and i’m from minnesota!!

    Hey,
I just got back from some visiting some family, wanted to respond to your comments.

No, Steve isn’t putting me up to anything, but, I can say I know what it’s like to move states away to start a new life and do new ministry. (Florida to Indiana back to Florida) So, I would just say…..”Sometimes, it’s completely worth it, to pick up and leave a place, especially if it brings you closer to Jesus and deeper into His mission.

    See ya,
    Jason

    Hey,
How far are you from St. Louis? (hours)

  27. Debbie Avatar

OK…I must say this…since I live in TX.

Note that the picture referenced is one of OLD Texas women. I’ll admit this phenomenon DID have its place…and that it still lives probably mostly in the rural areas. However, where I live in Plano, I don’t see a lot of what you call “texas” hair.

Unless, of course, I’ve lived here so long that I don’t see it as “texas hair,” but as normal. YIKES! That would be scary!

  28. Anne Jackson Avatar

I dont know Debbie…..we ate in Carrollton with my parents and saw some there…… :)

RYC: I was just wondering. My wife and I get to Southern Indiana a few times a year. (her family is there) Thought we might hook up sometime, meet, eat, talk about Florida….

Being as I’m from here, I of course would talk about how wonderful it is and warm and the beaches and the lakes and then we would move into how Phil and Steve and I have been talking about starting a sattelite church down near UCF (University of Central Fl) and if God confirms those plans, people like you and your husband would be a great asset to the Kingdom around the campus and that area…..we would talk about how Kansas is freakin cold and nobody really likes that place, they just pretend to (haha)…..then we might talk about how we have three football teams to choose from in Florida so you can just pretend like you like the one that is having the best season, unlike K.C. where you’re just stuck, if the team sucks……also when you start having kids, Disney World and Sea World and Busch Gardens are within 30 minutes to an hour in a half……and then we might move into how if you were ever homesick it would be ok, because we could easily find some people from your home town to comfort you, because everyone knows that Florida really isn’t full of Floridians…it’s really full of people from the Midwest……and then…….

Well….I mean…..I’m not trying to convince you to come here or anything, I just thought it would be fun to meet up and finally put personalities to the faces and words….. (oh, you’ve never seen me and my family, go to, http://www.xanga.com/jsnrws )

Aaahhhh, that was fun! See ya in St. Louie! HAHA
